Itinerary

Day 1

Accommodation: Villa Vista Guesthouse

Meals: Breakfast Included

Your flight will land at Windhoek airport where you will then head to Villa Vista Guesthouse close to the city centre. Here you will collect your rental vehicle for the trip and be given a trip file with all the trip information, a cooler box and driving directions. A representative will be there to answer any questions you may have. The guesthouse is centrally located meaning you can go explore what Windhoek has to offer or you can relax and enjoy the sunset from the open terrace, which has idyllic views over the mountains.

Day 2

Accommodation: Corona Guest Farm

Meals: Breakfast and Dinner included

The first stop on your self drive trip is Corona Guest Farm in the Naukluft Mountains. It is a self-sustaining Guest Farm with great game viewing including Zebra, Kudu, Oryx and Steenbok. The property has a large swimming pool and wide open spaces where you and your family can enjoy short walks or longer hikes.

Day 3-4

Accommodation: Kulala Desert Lodge

Meals: Breakfast and Dinner included

After breakfast its time to hit the road to Sossusvlei where you will be staying at Kulala Desert Camp, a luxury camp located at the foot of the majestic dunes. Here you can spend the afternoon swimming in the pool that overlooks the watering hole, take a walk through the desert, a guided drive or enjoy exploring on fat bikes.

Day 4 will be an early start to catch the sunrising over the dunes in the park. You will then spend the rest of the day exploring Sossusvlei and can stop off at Sesriem Canyon before heading back to the lodge.

Day 5-6

Accommodation: The Stiltz Hotel

Now it’s time to explore where the sea meets the desert. On your way to Swakopmund you will pass Walvis bay and we recommend making time to stop and explore some of what the town has to offer. The town is known for its enormous flocks of lesser and greater flamingos which populate the lagoons, it also offers activities like dolphin cruises and a visit to the Salt work, a large salt pan that provides 90% of South Africa’s salt. In Swakopmund you will be staying at the Stiltz Hotel which overlooks the ocean, dunes and lagoon nearby. You can spend the afternoon at the beach or just relaxing enjoying the view.

Swakopmund is the adventure hub of Namibia and there are so many to choose from. Take to the skies and see the desert from above on a scenic flight. Fully embrace the sandy dunes while sand boarding down them or quad biking over them. Take a township tour or a historical tour of the town. Or take the water on a Kayak trip to Pelican point while hundreds of seals play around your kayak. You can also enjoy a more educational activity and book a Living Desert Experience tour where you will have the opportunity to learn more abut the interesting animals and organisms that live in the desert and hide beneath the dunes.

Day 7-8

Accommodation: Doro Nawas Camp

Meals: Breakfast and Dinner included

Head to Damaraland, a Rugged and untamed region of Namibia that is home to a variety of desert-adapted wildlife such as elephant, rhino, zebra and lion. Here you will arrive at Doro Nawas, a camp with glorious views of the surrounding area, it is the perfect base for exploring the wildlife in the area on game drives or foot and for visiting sites like Twyfelfontein, Namibia’s first World Heritage Site. There is plenty to explore in this area and you can take time to relax at the camp pool in between excursions.

Day 9

Accommodation: Andersson’s at Ongava

Meals: Breakfast and Dinner included

Ongava Game Reserve has 100 different mammal species and shares a common boundary with the Etosha National Park. The camp you will be staying at has been designed to take in the surroundings, with 180 degree views from every rooms balcony, an underground photographic hide, infinity-edge swimming pool and lounge with views of the waterhole and beyond.

Day 10-11

Accommodation: Mushara Bush Camp

Meals: Breakfast and Dinner included

This is your chance to explore Etosha park on your own time. You will have your own car, a map provided by us and a full day to wander. Lunch will be at a new camp where you will enjoy a buffet and can take a dip in the pool before continuing your game drive. Mushara Bush Camp offers a true bush feel with a main thatched area and the kids will never get bored with a playground and kiddies pool to enjoy.

Day 12

Accommodation: River Crossing Lodge

Meals: Breakfast and Dinner included

Today you will drive back to Windhoek where you will stay at River Crossing Lodge and when you arrive your car will be collected from a representative. The lodge restaurant offers beautiful views if the surrounding area which is a 6500 pristine reserve, home to 19 different species of game, it is located just outside of Windhoek ensuring you are close to the airport for your next day departure.

Day 13

This is the last day of the package and you will take a transfer to Windhoek International Airport for your onward flight.
