Itinerary

Arrival at the Hosea Kutako International Airport in Windhoek. A transfer company will drive you to your accommodation in Windhoek, where you will have the opportunity to spend the afternoon at leisure.

A transfer company will drive you from your accommodation to the Eros Airport, where you will embark on a light-aircraft transfer to NamibRand Nature Reserve, a vast privately owned reserve covering almost 200 000 hectares bordering the Namib Naukluft Park.
On arrival you will be met by one of your local guides, who will transfer you to the lodge.

Two activities are included today. The lodge’s experienced guides will introduce you to the desert’s habitat and diverse fauna and flora and will accompany you into the desert, enlightening you of the wilderness’s own history and residents.

Today’s flight will give you an aerial view of the majestic dunes surrounding Sossusvlei. Proceed along the coast, subject to weather conditions, over Conception Bay, Sandwich Harbour, and its famous lagoon to Swakopmund. Once you land at the Swakopmund Airport, a transfer company will drive you to your accommodation where you can spend the afternoon at leisure.

For today, we recommend you partake in one of the various activities in Swakopmund and the surrounding areas.
The scenic drive from Swakopmund to Walvis Bay takes about 45 minutes. Don’t forget to take a hat, sunscreen and a warm jacket along. After 3 exciting hours the catamaran will dock and your guide will return you to the hotel.

After breakfast you will be escorted to the Swakopmund Airport for your flight to your next destination, the Hoanib Valley Camp.

The activities offered by the camp focus on the flora and fauna that have adapted to this desert region. In addition to being known for the dry region of the Kaokoveld and the desert elephants that live here, the region is also home to many other animals – you can also participate in exciting game observation trips and see, with a bit of luck, giraffes, springboks, oryx and even lions. Guests are welcome to also join the guides for a visit to the local tribes of Himba, Herero or Damara.

Today you will be transferred by road from the Hoanib Valley Camp to Shipwreck Lodge. Make sure to have your camera ready as you might spot a few animals along the way.

Two activities are included today. There are day excursions by vehicle to the Möwe Bay seal colony as well as to the Hoarusib River. You could also take part in a sundowner drive to the roaring dunes.

Terms

  • Travelling costs as per itinerary, game drives, activities, entrance- and park fees;
  • All accommodation as specified on a sharing basis;
  • Meals and drinks as specified;
  • Activities, excursions and road transfers as specified;
  • Air Taxi flights as specified;
  • Accommodation taxes, the applicable Tourism Levies and all relevant VAT.
  • Expenses of a personal nature, i.e. laundry, telephone expenses, gratuities, porterage fees, etc.;
  • Any additional meals;
  • Any additional activities;
  • Any other scheduled flights and related taxes;
  • Visa fees where relevant (Visa payments are required in U$ Dollar cash –
  • Traveller’s cheques and credit cards are not accepted for this purpose);
  • Cancellation-, baggage-, medical- and evacuation insurance;
  • Any new Government taxes, levies, etc. which are beyond our control.
  • Services and accommodations are subject to availability at the time of booking;
  • Luggage allowance is strictly 20kg per person including hand luggage and camera equipment and it must be packed in a soft bag. If these limits above are exceeded, the excess luggage can be held (or forwarded to the point of exit) for your flight out at the end of the safari. Kindly note that the additional cost incurred will be for your account. Please advise us before you travel if you are likely to have excess luggage, and we will make the necessary arrangements;
  • All Air Taxis only depart / fly in good weather conditions. It is to the suppliers discretion, what constitutes as good or bad weather conditions;
  • Should flights be cancelled due to bad weather conditions or any other reasons, Namibia Tracks & Trails cannot be held liable for any additional costs that may arise, for any programme changes that might occur or for any other missed flights, be it domestic or international;
  • It is compulsory for all guests to have comprehensive cancellation-, default-, baggage-, emergency evacuation- and medical insurance for the duration of the trip;
  • The operator reserves the right to change the itinerary;
  • Services and accommodations are subject to availability at the time of booking;
  • All relevant booking conditions of Namibia Tracks & Trails and/or any other booked services will apply to your travel arrangements;
  • The relevant cancellation policy applies should you fail to join or start your safari/journey for any reason, including airline delays or missed connection. Please ensure you have adequate travel insurance for this purpose. You become liable for cancellation penalties immediately on confirmation of booking services;
  • Passports must be valid (usually for at least 6 months after date of travel) and still have at least 3 blank visa (not endorsement) pages;
  • All visa requirements must be fulfilled and these are your responsibility.
