On arrival at Lusaka International Airport, you will be met by one of our local representatives, who will be holding a welcome board with your name. You will then be assisted with checking in for your flight to Mfuwe, South Luangwa. The flight takes approximately one hour.

At Mfuwe International Airport, a guide from Robin Pope Safaris will meet you for your game drive transfer to Tena Tena Camp in the Nsefu Sector of South Luangwa National Park. The Nsefu Sector has long been recognised as a phenomenal safari area, and it remains one of the most rewarding wildlife regions in the park.

Tena Tena is a remote and intimate camp set in a beautiful location on a bend of the Luangwa River. Most meals are enjoyed under the shade of a large mahogany tree in the centre of camp. On arrival, you will be shown to your tent before lunch is served. After a well-deserved siesta, you will head out on an afternoon and evening game drive.

Day 2–4: Safari in South Luangwa National Park

After breakfast around the campfire, your safari continues with time to explore the Nsefu Sector through morning and evening game activities. Depending on the time of year, an all-day picnic drive covering different habitats may be highly recommended and can make for an exceptional day on safari.

Over the next few days, you will have the chance to explore the Tena Tena area more fully, including drives or walks through the ebony groves. Depending on the heat and the time of year, you may also choose to venture further afield. This could include a cultural visit to Kawaza Village or a visit to Tribal Textiles, where you can gain insight into local industry and browse for souvenirs.

Nothing is set in stone, and your days will be designed around your interests. You can mix and match activities to make the most of your time in this game-rich and remote area of the Luangwa Valley.

Day 5–8: Lower Zambezi Safari Experience

In the morning, you will fly to Lower Zambezi National Park. Situated on the banks of the Ngwenya Channel, Amanzi Camp is a rustic and charming safari camp made up of four traditional, luxurious safari tents. Each tent is positioned on a raised wooden deck, allowing wildlife to wander freely nearby while giving you beautiful views of the Lower Zambezi National Park.

Where the Zambezi River and Mushika Floodplain meet, hundreds of animal species can be found. Morning or night, you may be greeted by an array of wildlife from the comfort of your tent.

The Lower Zambezi is known for its excellent water-based activities. During your stay, you can enjoy canoeing, boating and fishing, with game drives and walking activities also available. This gives you a full range of safari experiences to choose from. Tiger fishing, offered on a catch-and-release basis, is a must for keen fishermen.

Day 9: Departure from Lusaka

After breakfast, there may be time for a final morning activity, depending on your flight schedule. You will then be transferred to the airstrip for your flight to Lusaka, where you will connect with your onward flight.
