Day 1: Saturday - Port Elizabeth – Tsitsikamma

Head west along the Garden Route, which traces the Indian Ocean coastline and is bounded inland by towering mountain ranges and native forests, after meeting your representative and other travelers. Spend the night at Tsitsikamma. Today's journey distance: 190 kilometers

Day 2: Sunday - Tsitsikamma – Knysna

Visit the breathtakingly gorgeous Storms River Mouth and Tsitsikamma National Park after breakfast, if the weather permits. The Tsitsikamma National Park includes a rugged mountainous area with isolated valleys covered in mountain fynbos and temperate high forests with deep river gorges that flow down to the sea, as well as 80 km of rocky coastline with breathtaking sea and landscape views. Next, we proceed to Knysna, which is referred to as the oyster box of South Africa and is located in the Garden Route, tucked away on the shores of a stunning lagoon. Before enjoying supper at Drydock Restaurant, which is known for its meals with magnificent scents and flavors made with the best local ingredients and freshly picked herbs from the area, take a sunset boat to the Knysna Heads. [Eatening and Breakfast] Today's trip distance: 100 kilometers

Day 3: Monday - Knysna – Oudtshoorn

Go to Oudtshoorn, the "ostrich capital" and the epicenter of the global ostrich farming industry, via the Outeniqua Pass. Visit "Dolphin Point," a magnificent Wilderness overlook, on route. Before touring the breathtaking limestone caverns of the Cango Caves, one of the world's greatest natural wonders, which have been sculpted by nature over the ages, we will stop by an ostrich farm in Oudtshoorn for an exciting interactive tractor tour and a light lunch that includes regional specialties like ostrich steak. In the late afternoon, we will reach our hotel, have time to check in and unwind before dinner (on our own dime). Spend the night at Oudtshoorn. [Lunch & Breakfast] Today's journey distance: 210 kilometers

Day 4: Tuesday - Oudtshoorn - Hermanus

An early morning Meerkat Safari is an option (for own account and subject to availability). See these amazing, naturally adapted animals emerge from their burrows just in time to enjoy the light before they go about their daily lives (weather allowed). A percentage of the money that visitors pay for this TRAVEL WITH A PURPOSE activity is donated to the Buffelsdrift Foundation, which works to conserve wildlife in the Klein Karoo, habitat, and the local population. Return home for a delectable breakfast after this exhilarating trip. Following breakfast, the trip continues through the "Little Karoo" to Barrydale, where you will have the chance to visit a nearby farm school, spend time in the classroom with the students and teachers, and gain more knowledge about this rural community. Our Barrydale Farm School Development Fund, which supports local education for disadvantaged children in rural communities, receives a share of the trip proceeds.  If the school is open, the school visit will take place. The best land-based whale watching in the world is found in Hermanus, a beachside resort that is known as the center of the whale route. Continue on along the Tradouw's pass to Swellendam and then on to Hermanus. Spend the night at Hermanus. [Breakfast] Today's journey distance: 365 kilometers

Day 5: Wednesday - Hermanus - Cape Town

Leaving Hermanus after a leisurely breakfast, proceed to Somerset West via the breathtakingly picturesque coastline route, and then continue on to Stellenbosch, which is located in the stunning Cape Winelands. Before traveling to Cape Town, where the tour finishes upon arrival, you will have some free time to explore the town's oak-shaded streets, cafés, boutiques, and art galleries. [Breakfast] 160 kilometers were traveled today.
