Zimbabwe – Guided tour of Victoria Falls
Africa is certainly not short of awe-inspiring landscapes and destinations and Victoria Falls definitely checks those boxes.
Victoria Falls is the largest curtain of falling water in the world and is also one of the seven natural wonders of the world. Flowing from the mighty Zambezi River, the falls forms the border between Zimbabwe and Zambia and is aptly named “Mosi-oa-Tunya”, which translates to “The Smoke That Thunders”.
South Africa – Cable car up Table Mountain
A trip to South Africa would be incomplete without standing on the Top of Table Mountain and gazing down to the city below. Coining its name because of its flat top, the Mountain is one of the New Seven Wonders of Nature and it is hard to argue why.
A spectacular site, the Mountain is the backdrop for the bustling city of Cape Town and is one of the most visited sites in the city.
The Mountain can be access via Cable Car or hiking trails and is part of the Cape Floral Kingdom World Heritage Site.
Africa – See the Big 5
Any trip to Africa should include a safari and the opportunity to spot the Big 5 which include lion, leopard, rhinoceros, elephant, and the Cape buffalo.
Each of these animals are unique and magnificent in their own right and something everyone should see with their own eyes.
Kenya – Witness the Great Migration
The Great Migration takes place annually and it occurs when almost two million animals move across the Serengeti and Mara plains in search of food and water. Many animals do not make it to the end of the journey as they face many dangers such as water crossing and predators.
The migration has been hailed as one of the Seven National Wonders of Africa and is a spectacular event to witness. The Migration generally happens during the dry months, when the plains in the Serengeti begin to dry out.
Namibia – Visit the worlds old desert
With some of the most contrasting and interesting landscapes, Namibia is also home to the worlds oldest desert, the Namib desert. Just because it is a desert doesn’t mean the area is lacking in wildlife. The desert is home to animals such as antelopes, ostriches, zebra, lions, gemsbok, oryx, rodents and birds.
The desert is also an adventurers paradise and happens to be home to the biggest sand dune in the world, Dune 7, which is 383 metres-tall.
Botswana – Experience a safari on the Okavango Delta
The Okavango Delta is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is one of the world’s largest inland delta. It’s unique as unlike most river deltas that usually lead to an ocean, the Okavango River empties onto open land. This floods the savanna and creates a unique inland delta that is always changing.
The delta is home to an abundant wilderness which can be experienced from both land and water based safaris. The Okavango Delta is a remarkable wetland wonder that should be high up on the list.
