Get ready for an unforgettable bush adventure in the heart of the Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve. Here’s everything you need to know for a smooth arrival and a magical overnight stay:
Upon landing at Hoedspruit Airport, a friendly driver will greet you for your private direct transfer to Arathusa Safari Lodge. The scenic road journey takes about 1.5 to 2 hours, winding through the bushveld until you reach the lodge entrance. You’ll be welcomed by the Arathusa team and shown to your suite. The lodge is renowned for its warm, family-run hospitality and elegant touches. There are water-facing suites (with stunning views of the waterhole), all of which are en-suite, air-conditioned, and thoughtfully equipped for your comfort.
After settling in, enjoy high tea before heading out on your afternoon game drive. Safari vehicles are limited to 8 guests each for an intimate experience, led by expert rangers and trackers. Sabi Sands is famed for its Big Five, especially leopards.

After settling in, head to the dining area for a delicious lunch. The lodge often offers meals that highlight local flavours, giving you a taste of the region. Post-lunch, get ready for your afternoon game drive. Make sure you have your camera, binoculars, and water bottle. Remember, the afternoon is a prime time for predator sightings, so keep your eyes peeled! The afternoon game drives include a sundowner beverage.
After an exhilarating afternoon game drive, return to the lodge for a delicious dinner and a restful overnight stay, the perfect way to unwind and reflect on the day’s adventures.
Day 4: Kruger safari activities
